For the last few weeks I have been so stressed out. My life hasn't really been mine. My house is a mess, my kids have had no supervision, we have not had a decent meal in ages, and I am ready to check myself into a mental institution. This is all because of something called the PTA. Yes, I am one of those who doesn't know how to say "NO". I got put in charge of RED RIBBON WEEK and I had know idea how much work it intailed. If you know me, you know I don't delegate very well, and sometimes would rather do it myself so I know it is done right. Don't get me wrong,I have called parents to help because I was desperate only to find out that they have mastered the word "NO". So I have planned, labored, dealt with a very difficult Principal, a few teachers, and now ready to start the actual event on Mon. the 13th. I am praying that it all goes smoothly for the sake of my sanity. I do want to thank Kristi, Katie, Jennifer S., and Jen. for coming to my rescue. I am so thankful for good friends!!
All in all, I hope that the kids get the message of how important it is to be "Drug Free" and that they have a good time this week. As for me, "No, No, No,". See I can do it. Oh yeah, I already said "Yes" to be in charge of "Teacher Appreciation Week" in the spring!!!!! What was I thinking?!?!!!!

I'm so sorry. I used to do the same thing, always signing up to be room mom and such. This was until the PTA didn't support vouchers, so I stopped supporting them. My kids haven't suffered one bit. You are doing great though too. It takes an army to run a school sometimes.

Hopefully once this is over your life will slow down, but I doubt it the holidays are right around the corner!!!

I'm learning to say no too! Maybe we can be the just say no club, but maybe in the future! I did tell Hunter's and Joseph's teachers I wouldn't commit to a day but drop in when I could. That has been a good thing.
